hahaha, thanks! Glad you guys enjoy it! Technically not a game character, but he might as well be, so I figured I’d bend the rules a bit =P

“The Arrow actually started as a TV show character […] Also, I realize that “The Arrow” the TV show character is way different from “The Green Arrow” comic book character, so this obviously shouldn’t be taken as a program for HIM.”……

hahaha, yeah, I was actually kind of not into the show at first for that reason, until I learned to accept that ‘The Arrow’ is basically a different character from ‘The Green Arrow.’

That said, it would be interesting if they took him from dark and broody “batman-light” to the more irreverent pseudo-anarchist from the comics =P

That would be an interesting approach Dan, but I think a lot of people would lose interest after they did it. For some damn reason we as a society seem to empathize with the solo, dark and brooding warrior type character over something like Green Arrow when in fact I think Oliver has way more to be upset about than the Batman. That’s neither here nor there though. I will say the wife and I would like the show more if they presented a more traditional Oliver Queen.

It’s interesting to see the two different takes that Marvel and DC are doing with their cinematic offshoots.I think it’s been said that after the poor performances of the Superman Returns and Green Lantern films, compared to the fantastic success of the Dark Knight trilogy, DC has basically decided that DARK AND GRITTY is the new gold standard. Aaaand I think that is working to their detriment, as evidenced by the new new Superman, and the coming JLA movie (sad Batman is sad).

Where as Marvel, well, I think Guardians of the Galaxy pretty much says it all.

I also agree completely Alex, and this is from someone who like Man of Steel, DC is going crazy with the dark and gritty nature of everything. What they don’t realize is there is a time and place for it. Batman should be dark and gritty but Superman has always been more light in its presentation because Superman hasn’t hidden in the shadows. He’s out in the day fighting crime and saving the world. Marvel on the other hand is ahead of the curve and like you said, Guardians of the Galaxy says it all.
