So during my last workout two weeks ago I managed to pull two small muscles in my left arm making basically all exercise impossible for a week and a half. I gave myself a little more time to recover, and now I’m back in it. Pretty solid workout today. I felt a twinge in my neck on the front lever negatives so I stopped those early since I didn’t feel like injuring myself again already. =P

Thanks, guys. Honestly, Vincent, I’m not sure. It was leg day, which is a weird day to injure my elbow, but I think it might have been on my dumbbell lunges. Just handled the weight weirdly or something, I dunno. I didn’t even feel it until I had cooled down and it stiffened up.After my most recent workout it was a little stiff/sore again, but not injured. I’m just kinda rehabbing it. Took a few days off, and now I did the same workout again with a bit more weight on some exercises. We’ll see how I feel tomorrow.3×5 Sandbag Deadlifts @ 50 lbs5x5 Sandbag Deadlifts @ 110 lbs3x8 Wide Grip Pull Ups3x8 Shoulder Width Chin Ups3x8 One Armed Dumbbell Rows (49 lbs)3×8 Dumbbell Bicep Curls (29 lbs)3×5 Front Lever Negatives3x8 Dumbbell Shrugs (44 lbs)1×20 Ogoshi Drills (each side)1×20 Uchimata Drills (each side)

9 Pray then like this:”Swolefather, who art in the iron temple, swoled by thy frame.10 Thigh swoledom come, thigh will be done,in the deadlift as well as in the squat rack.11 Give us this day our daily whey.12 And forgive us our cheat days,as we forgive those who swolehate.13 And lead us not into cardio, but deliver us from the elliptical. For thine is the swoledom, the power clean, and the glute ham raise. Forever and ever.Wheymen.”Praise Brodin.I begin a bulk for the first time in three years, and I’m pretty psyched. It’s been a long, challenging summer here at casa Wallace, but things will always get better. I’m logging my first three workouts here, and will continue every day from now on. I took a day between each workout this week to give myself time to adapt, but starting this sunday I’ll be on a six day on, one day off schedule. Unfortunately I’m a bit limited on some equipment right now, so I’ll have to make do with what I have until I can afford to either buy more equipment or get a gym membership. Nevertheless, I should be able to make some decent gains with what I’ve got.Day 1 (Monday)3×10 Push Ups3x12 Dumbbell Bench Presses (44lbs)3×12 Overhead Presses (29 lbs)3×12 Butterflies (44 lbs)3×12 Side Lateral Raises (21 lbs)3×8 Incline push ups3x8 Decline push ups (superset with incline, 1 minute rest between supersets)Day 2 (Wednesday)3×5 Bodyweight Squats5x5 Sandbag Front Squats (125 lbs)3×8 Dumbbell Walking Lunges (49 lbs each hand)3×8 Dumbbell 1-legged calf raises (49 lbs each hand)3×8 Barbell Hip Bridges (90 lbs)3×10 Russian Twists (20 lbs)Day 3 (Friday)5×5 Barbell Deadlifts (154 lbs)3×8 Wide Grip Pull Ups3x5 Shoulder Width Chin Ups3x8 One Armed Dumbbell Rows (49 lbs)8/8/5 Dumbbell Bicep Curls (29 lbs)5×5 Front Lever Negatives3x8 Dumbbell Shrugs (49 lbs)3×5 Hanging Oblique Crunches3x10 second L-Sit Holds (both these and the oblique crunches were done from a 90 degree lockout hang)
Feeling pretty good. Holy crap I’m sore, though. Getting into the groove, though. I’ll make an updated post about my diet on the blog soon, and how I’m trying to bulk on the cheap!

Notes:
Modified my pull day a teensy bit. Running into the issue of not having enough weight plates for my deadlifts (honestly I can probably 5×5 a good 275 or so right now but 154 is the most weight I have), so I added reps and decreased sets in the hope of a bit more hypertrophy (since strength gains are unlikely until I can afford to get some more plates). I increased the weight on my rows, and I decreased the weight on my curls, since I think the curls irritated my elbow last time. Abs were super hard today for some reason, my lever negatives sucked and I could only get three sets in. Oh well. Also, I posted my bulking mix recipe on the blog, in case you missed it.
