This is the post I’ve been waiting for. Raoh’s complex and sometimes paradoxical motivations and methods are what make him a top 5 all time favorite character. I especially love how he vows to rule the heavens in his own attempt to save the world as he sees best. Unify the people through strength and then wait for the true savior to appear.

While I haven’t read the series, I can certainly see how he may have shaped subsequent baddies.

I know he is so popular in Japan that they held an actual funeral for him when the Legends of the True Savior movie series came out.
